Loire Valley

One of France’s most beautiful regions is preparing to welcome you with open arms… The Loire Valley, commonly referred to as ‘the garden of France’ is the ultimate land of the kings. The jewels in France’s heritage crown are the over 3,000 châteaux built or heavily modified here during the Renaissance period (15th and 16th Centuries) and showcasing the architectural styles typical of the key centuries in the country’s history, their sheer splendour earning the Loire Valley its place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The region is also renowned for its vineyards, spanning over 70,000 hectares, and the great diversity of the soil types to be found here, resulting in the production of a variety of wines in large quantities, including Bourgueil, Chinon and Vouvray, each bringing their own unique characteristics to the most demanding of tables.

The Hauts de Loire - a first-class hotel

Over time, the estate has become an extraordinary platform for such expression and regularly hosts exhibitions of works by contemporary artists.

Nowadays, guests arriving at the château are immediately greeted by Pierre Yermia’s monumental piece entitled Le Grand Cerf des Hauts de Loire (‘The Great Deer of the Hauts de Loire’) – a prime example of the property’s ability to incorporate art into its natural surroundings. The grounds themselves are, in fact, something of a living exhibition, peppered with works that are showcased here for a season at a time.
